Glossary

OHS
Occupational Health and Safety — the field concerned with the safety, health and welfare of people at work.
Psychosocial risk
Workplace factors — workload, role clarity, management style — that can affect mental health and, in turn, safety behaviour and output.
Near-miss
An incident that could have caused harm but did not, used as an early indicator in the reporting practices covered in the guides.
Cost of inaction
The estimated financial impact of not addressing a known workplace risk, as calculated by the project's Cost-of-Inaction Estimator (see instruments).
